Hey everyone,

Game of Thrones is back in full force and we are now two episodes into season 6! This post is dark and full of spoilers for those of you who haven’t seen the first two episodes yet so continue at your peril! A girl has been warned.

For those of you who are up to date check out the second page for my opinion of what’s happened and what I think will come next!

(I have read the books but will avoid giving away any spoilers to people who just watch the TV series!)

    1. It is an epic fantasy, full of rich and well developed characters that you will fall in love with. In one extremely complex new world, the characters will play the game of thrones. Despite having dragons, “zombies”, giants and prophecies, the political games end up being surprisingly realistic and were actually inspired in real historical events. Family, love, hate, revenge, honor, blood, magic, intrigue, betrayal, friendship, religion and much more! The story starts with Robert Baratheon as the king of the Seven Kingdoms that are now united, but a civil war is imminent! Some former rulers plan to rise up to power again. Who will seat in Iron Throne? Meanwhile, Winter is coming and one ancient evil has awaken to threaten the world of man. Will the Light triumph?

      You have to watch it!

      1. Thank you! Do I have to start from the beginning or can I pick it up from the beginning of new series? Are the films the same as the TV series? Same actors? Did the books come first?

      2. You are best to start from the beginning, and the books came first and contain a lot that the TV series doesn’t. Although at the moment some of the TV series is ahead of the books as the latest book Is yet to be released. Also there aren’t any movies, only books and TV series.

    2. It’s a political thriller with lots of Interpersonal relationships and character development. With lots of plot twists (normally with the death of main characters), set within a medieval fantasy setting. If you like to be surprised then it is quite a good series to follow.

    3. You should start from the beginning! Don’t watch season 6 for now.

If you like to read, the books are a masterpiece. The main story is the the same in the books and the TV Show, but there are some differences (the book had too many characters and storylines, they could not bring everything to the series).

You can better understand the TV Show if you have read the novels (it is really vast and complex). But nowadays we have internet! You can google anything you miss while watching.

Both TV show and Books are interesting even if you know what is going to happen. So, I believe it is a personel choice which one you do first.

Advice: If you choose to watch the series first, pay close attention to the dialogues. Everything they say is important and will give you a lot of clues.

  1. Now, it took me a while to locate page 2 to get at the post proper, but finally I got it. So, are you enjoying the current season (and the previous season) of the series? To me season 5 somehow became inexplicably boring and while I still watch, I’m nowhere near as excited about it as I was at the very start. It could be just me. I don’t really fancy a panoramic take on such a vast array of characters that I can’t remember who is who, let alone take much interest in the characters’ fates. I think you have quite an advantage in having read the books too.
