S13 Door Card Insert

Broadfield's Blog

I get a lot of 240sx owners asking me about the best way to reupholster the S13 door card insert. It’s easily the most common interior mod, basically only interior mod, that S13 owners attempt. The OEM door card consists of a vinyl wrapped card with some nasty light beige/gray tweed material in the non-removable insert. If you have never seen it, it’s bad! This tweed insert usually just gets ripped off by most owners and the standard vinyl behind it is good enough for some. However, a lot of owners like to attempt to reupholster the insert. Unfortunately there are several issues when attempting this. 1) The area is concave… so the material is under a high stress and wants to “lift” in the concave area over time, or even in a very short time in the heat. 2) Off the shelf spray adhesive that most people use isn’t…

Bad Obsession Tyre Stick-Out Gauge

2016-11-26 02_28_50-Project Binky - Episode 14 - Austin Mini GT-Four - Turbocharged 4WD Mini - YouTu.png

The latest episode of Project Binky is out.
This is a brilliant fabrication series documenting an amazing classic mini cross Celica GT4 build. The episodes really show the level of work that goes into a top quality custom car, coupled with lots of British humour.

It’s probably one of my favourite series on YouTube and the quality is shown by the fact they have over 100,000 subscribers despite only having 14 episodes in the series so far.

I would definitely recommend checking them out at: https://www.youtube.com/user/badobsessionmsport

A big thank you to everyone who reads my blog, everyone who has liked my posts and everyone who comments!
I know I haven’t been too active recently, it seems that funny old thing called life can get in the way sometimes, but I haven’t forgotten about you or about this blog! Hopefully with the nights drawing in and the weather getting worse I should have a little bit more indoor-time to contribute to the blog, time will tell.

Trump is president

So, it looks like Donald Trump did it, he’s now officially the president of the US.

I’m more left-leaning than the typical American and so would have preferred Clinton (although choosing between those two is like choosing which venereal disease is best), but I don’t live in the US so it’s not a massive issue to me.
I don’t really know what he has in store for the US and the rest of the world, but if nothing else it should be ‘interesting’.

Time will tell.

Read This First if you are considering killing yourself

Suicide is the commonest cause of death of men under the age of 35 in the UK and I believe that more work should be done to help these vulnerable people.

This post really struck a chord after I lost a good friend to suicide earlier in the year, and if me re-blogging it goes even 0.1% of the way towards preventing a single suicide then it is time well spent.

It’s time the elephant in the room is addressed and the people struggling know that there is support available.

For UK readers please check This link for help options.

Courage

Suicide.  That’s the word that if people talk about it at all, they will usually use.  “Took their own life” might come up.  “Killed themselves” is farther down the list.

Have you ever heard someone say, “That kid murdered himself” or “That kid committed murder when she killed herself”?

I hope no one ever murders you.  Not even you.  But if you are reading this right now, you might be considering murdering yourself.

What do you call it to yourself?

In the Dr. Seuss animated feature, “Halloween is Grinch Night” the Whos down in Whoville call the outhouse (or bathroom), the euphemism.  Euphemism is one of those words they expect you to learn for the SAT.  It means “a mild or indirect word or expression substituted for one considered to be too harsh or blunt when referring to something unpleasant or embarrassing.”  Outhouse and bathroom are euphemisms.  While…

What’ll it be?

When I started this blog at the end of last year, I never had a goal in mind about what I would do with it.

I never set targets, I never had a target audience, I never had posts that I could or couldn’t post, I never had a schedule. This blog is, and always has been, a bit of a free-for-all.

The bar was set low. In fact, so low that if the bar were to physically exist it would probably be lying on the ground (more than likely in the back of my garage covered in wood chips and metal filings, if I hadn’t cut it up and repurposed it in the meantime).

But I had a think (always a dangerous thing to do, that thinking business), and in my think I did thunk, what if my blog had a purpose? Home-Simpson-Thinking-Vector-Image.png
